Regiment mustered out December 15, 1865. Veterans and Recruits transferred to 1st Michigan Cavalry.

Regiment lost during service 4 Officers and 81 Enlisted men killed and mortally wounded and 2 Officers and 256 Enlisted men by disease. Total 343

Seventh Michigan Cavalry Regiment
Organized in the winter of 1863 at Grand Rapids, the Seventh became part of the famous Michigan Cavalry Brigade under the dashing "boy general," George Armstrong Custer of Monroe, Michigan. Consisting of the First, Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Michigan Cavalry Regiments, this was the only Union brigade created completely of troops from a single state.

Kemp, William - 7Th Michigan Calvary Co.H  Fought under General Custer in the Union Army , and later again in the Indian Wars 1861-1870.
