Edmond KEMPE, Gent., purchased two patents. the first was that of Capt.George Reade, 600 acres, received 1651, and
the second was that of Col.George Ludlow, 186 acres, received 1654. His purchase was in 1656, and he also received 314 acres
for transporting seven persons (family members) to VA. He then had 1160 acres.This land was on the north side of Peanketanke
River, beginning on the E.side of Bland's Creek, to the W. side of the Gleab land crossing, parallel to the Peregrin Bland

2004).Edmond was JP for Lancaster Co. VA in 1655. In 1656, he recorded in thatcounty a power of attorney to him from Sir Robert
